Student Diplomats/ Women in Diplomacy

The Student Diplomats program provides professional development opportunities in the field of diplomacy and foreign affairs. Students will develop the ability to lead high-level bilateral dialogues, learn crisis negotiation strategies, and foster productive relationships with global businesses and foreign ministries. Whether it's the foreign service or a corporate boardroom, our program gives members multifaceted strategies and experience that can help them succeed.

       Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background and interest in international relations, economics, international development, history

  • Confident public speakers

  • Professionalism

  • Excellent writing and analysis abilities

Global Research

Global Research analysts provide innovative, comprehensive, and timely research reports. Reports will address salient geopolitical topics which include situational assessments and policy recommendations.

       Preferred Qualifications:

  • Language abilities in: Arabic, Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish

  • Exceptional writing and research skills, including effective consolidation and analysis of open-source resources

  • Knowledge and interest in international relations, international development, energy security, global health, education, capacity building, a regional specialty, and cultural understanding

  • Self-started and team player who can effectively work in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Business and Finance

Business and Finance associates are instrumental in running the business side of GDS including fundraising, donation management, non-profit tax filing, and budget management. 

       Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in accounting, budgeting, fundraising

  • Experience in data input and analysis software such as STATA

  • Self-started and team player who can effectively work in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Design and IT

Design and IT associates are vital for creating and executing the media and design needs of GDS. Associates will work  on developing a variety of projects including social media marketing, website construction and maintenance, and brand management. Furthermore, associates will create videos for, photograph, and market GDS events.

       Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in web design, social media, marketing, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut/IMovie, and Illustrator

  • Self-starter and team player who can effectively work in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
